Dear colleagues at OpenBet,

Yesterday afternoon, during an All Hands meeting for the UK office, our colleagues were informed that they would be laid off by the end of May for “competitiveness” reasons!

Just like that—purely for shareholder profits—because some percentage “didn’t look right” to them. After having squeezed every bit of effort out of them for years on demanding projects with tight deadlines, while keeping salaries frozen and far below modern living standards through various evaluation systems, they are now discarding them with nothing but access to a phone line for psychological support.

They are firing the colleagues we have worked side by side with for years, showing in the most ruthless way that their lives are just another “cost” to be cut.

We are sending a message of solidarity to the UK office!
We condemn this unacceptable decision by the management!
No one should lose their job!

As members of the Trade Union Committee, we call on everyone to stand together in these critical times. No one should be alone! Only together can we put obstacles in the path of management plans, which cares only about profits and losses, not about our real lives.

Colleagues, we are the ones who work every day, we are the ones who make the projects happen, we are the ones who push for launches. It’s thanks to us that they celebrate Super Bowl, Grand National, and other major event successes. And we are the ones who can stop them!

We have the power to send a loud and clear message to the company: This will not stand! Today, we make our voices heard with our protests! And tomorrow—no one goes to work. We are all on strike! Our strength lies in organization and worker solidarity—in the Trade Union Committee and our industry-wide union, SETIP, where we all must be members.

When faced with the dilemma “Their profits or our lives” we choose our lives!

We urge you to reflect on your own experiences in recent months, the developments you witness inside and outside OpenBet. Remember that united we have achieved victories, big or small. Remember that we have resisted similar layoffs before, when they attempted to fire colleagues in the Athens office.

Sound the alarm everywhere!

Let our message be heard all the way to London!
NO LAYOFFS – WE ARE NOT DISPOSABLE!
ALL OF US MUST STAND TOGETHER IN OUR UNION!

EVERYONE PARTICIPATE IN THE
24-HOUR NATIONAL WORKERS’ STRIKE ON FEBRUARY 28!
